Back and Forth - Love, Camera, and Social Media

Anna runs towards the door as soon as she hears the doorbell. Excitedly, she unlocks the door and instantly jumps onto Chris standing outside. Chris was surprised but later laughed, framing Anna's body in his arms.

"I missed you so much, Chris. You have no idea," cried Anna in a muffled voice.

"Me too, but I am here now." Chris rubs his hand against Anna's back. Anna pulls back and kisses Chris lightly.

"Come on in, you would be so tired from the trip," Anna holds Chris' hand and takes him inside.

After having the dinner, Anna and Chris lie together in the bed.

"You told me you had a task to do with me. What was it?" Chris says in a low voice.

"Oh-" Anna sits down and looks back at Chris. "I totally forgot about it."

Anna instantly gets up from her bed and runs towards the drawer. Suddenly, she stops and looks back.

"Well, it would require a lot of thinking. So, why don't we do it tomorrow?" Anna exclaims.

Chris thinks for a moment, then sits down against the headstand.

"I am always thinking. Let's do it now."

Anna smiles at him and takes out a poster from her drawer. Then, she runs back to slide in the blanket next to Chris.

"So, we have to create a post about ourselves," Anna reads the instructions to Chris. "We have to write the things we love about each other and the ones that we don't."

Chris nods his head while listening to Anna.

"Why don't we start with complimenting each other?" Anna inquires. Chris gives her a big smile.

"I don't know how many years it would take me to stop talking about you, Anna." Anna blushes at Chris.

"Just tell me the ones that should be exemplary for the audience. I have told everyone that we share a beautiful bond."

"We do," Chris nods while looking at the ceiling.

"Well, I love that you are always there for me. No matter how important your other tasks are, you always talk to me about my day."

Anna smiles intently.

"Also, despite being independent in many aspects, you always consult me before making decisions. It makes me feel like I am an important part of your life."

“You definitely are, Chris.” Anna hugs him tightly.

"And of course, I love when you try to work on a mistake you had made in the past. I always acknowledge your efforts, Anna. You are quick to learn things."

Anna smiles, hugging him even tighter.

"Do you want me to continue because I can talk forever," Chris giggles.

Anna shakes her head, pulling herself away from Chris. She sits next to him, holding his hand.

"My turn now." Anna thinks for a moment and then smiles at Chris.

"I love how you always stand by my side, no matter how difficult the situation is.” Chris squeezes her hand. “And you never lie to me. That would be the best of all.”

"Thank you!" Chris plants a kiss on Anna's cheek. Anna picks up her phone and starts to type on it. Chris looks at her with affection, but his gaze suddenly shifts elsewhere.

“But I don’t like when you compare me with others, Anna.”

Anna stops writing and looks up at Chris. Chris looks back at her after a moment.

"I try my best to be the best husband to you, but it de motivates me when you put someone above me, asking me to just be like them."

"Wha-“ Anna complains, but Chris keeps talking.

“I am sorry, but I thought this would be the right moment to say that.”

Anna's mouth opens wide in surprise. Suddenly, she grins sarcastically.

"That’s because I always fear you will end up leaving me. You get distracted easily!”

“What? Distracted? How so?” Chris sits straight.

"I don't know, but you are not considerate enough like other men are." Anna breathes deeply, setting her phone aside. "I also have some expectations, but you are too busy with your work and all."

"I am sorry that I am unable to give you more time, Anna, but I want to secure a better future for us." Chris grabs Anna's hand, but she jerks it off.

"Our future can be beautiful without money as well, Chris. You never shut up about it! It's no doubt you will always prefer your work over me."

Chris sighs.

"But here you are complaining about me?!" Anna's eyes began to tear, so she got off the bed and made her way towards the door.

"Wait, Anna!!"

"Please, Leave me alone."

Anna leaves the room while Chris stares at her helplessly.

"That's not what I wanted it to be," Chris mumbles, returning to the bed.

Whereas Anna stands against her kitchen counter, shedding a tear or two.

"I think there's more to complain than to compliment about him." Anna cleans her face with her arm and turns towards the wash basin to wash the utensils used for dinner, but surprisingly finds none.

Suddenly, the realization hits her. Chris has already cleaned the kitchen for her while she was taking a shower. Chris always did the chores whenever Anna was feeling low. Anna shrugs and walks towards the refrigerator. As soon as she opens it, she finds a cake sitting on the shelf. Anna confusedly takes it out.

"Thank you for being the best wife" was imprinted on the cake. Anna's heart was racing fast.

"So, you found it?" Anna looks back at Chris standing at the kitchen door, admiring her.

"Is this for me?"  Anna inquires, pointing towards herself.

"I don't have another wife other than you, Anna." Chris chuckles. Anna controlled her tears and ran towards Chris. Chris embraces her in his arms.

"I am sorry, Chris." Chris shakes his head while massaging her back. Anna pulls back, holding onto Chris' shoulders.

"You are the best husband. I sometimes overlook these little things you do for me, but this is all that matters. I am sorry." Anna cries.

Chris cleans her tears off her face. "I am sorry too, Anna. I think I am sometimes too invested in securing a future for us while our present is silently passing by."

"It's fine," Anna says in a muffled voice. Chris kisses her on her forehead and walks her towards the cake.

"A cake for all your hard work," Chris says while they both cut the cake.

The next day, while Anna sits in her work cabin, she finally writes the post.

"I have the best husband in this world, and so am I the best wife as my husband says. He is hardworking, loyal, and most of all, extremely considerate towards me and our house. Whenever I feel low, he's always there to support me through every difficulty.

My husband says I am understanding, and I always consider him in all my decisions that make him an important part of my life. He says I learn quicker than ever from my mistakes and am not embarrassed to accept them.

But if I am being honest, our relationship is not all glitters. We have our bad days, where we are hopeless and indecisive, and sometimes blame each other for our insecurities because we are not perfect. But we can make this relationship perfect together by accepting our flaws.”
