Experiencing PlayStation Showcase 2021
by experiencehood | Sep 10, 2021The PlayStation showcase had big reveals of games to come. Sony is trying to get us salivating for new experiences on our PlayStation console, and I think it worked.
The showcase begins with a live-action scene of a game of chess. Then the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment welcoming us and introducing us to what to expect.
Immediately after the welcome, we are introduced to the upcoming games that will be released on the PlayStation.
There was a huge selection of games shown. A few of the games’ trailers were just a short cinematic. The Majority of the games did show gameplay with cinematics to demonstrate what the game is intended to be.
While there were new games announced, there were a few old games in the form of remasters and long continuing Grand Theft Auto V that made it into the showcase such as, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection. There were also some familiar games that had not been released yet but had been shown in the past like, DeathLoop.
Here is a list of the games
Star Wars Knights of the old republic remake
Project Eve
Tiny Tina’s wonderlands
Forspoken
Rainbow Six Extraction
Alan Wake remastered
Grand theft Auto V
Ghostwire Tokyo
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
Blood Hut
Deathloop
Kid a Mnesia Exhibition
Tchia
Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
After the first set of trailers, Herman Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, appears to introduce the showcase of PlayStation exclusives.
The PlayStation exclusives include a couple of Marvel games Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Gran Turismo 7, and God of War Ragnarok.
Continuing, Sid Shuman begins with an interview with Herman Hulst. Herman responded to questions about the PlayStation exclusives, and he even answered some questions about Horizon Forbidden West.
Sid Shuman continued his segment with another interview with Eric William, the director of God of War Ragnarok, and Cory Barlog. The interview answered some questions about the process of the creation of the game and some details of what is happening in the story.
Finally, Sid interviewed Ryan Treadwell, Lead Producer at Aspyr, to answers questions about the upcoming Star War Old Republic remake.
Overall the showcase was exciting, and hopefully, the game lives up to the hype.
