How to Get and Stay Motivated
by experiencehood | Jul 27, 2021Sometimes it can be difficult to get motivated. You are easily distracted by social media and tv. Tasks that could be today end up lingering around for months. Here are some ways that help you get motivated to achieve your goals.
Find a Hero
Look for someone that inspires you to do your best. You don’t have to meet that person just know seeing what that person has done is enough.
The earliest source of motivation is a hero. As a child, most people have had someone that inspired them to pretend or behave a certain way. It doesn’t matter whether it is a fictional character, sports player, tv personality, or someone closes to you. Use these figures to serve as motivation to become the person you dream of.
Keep Learning
Learning new things can inspire a new idea or new ways of thinking. Every time you learn something new, there is a chance for an idea to motivate you.
Discontentment
One of the best motivators is discontent. If you want to keep improving your life, you must be unsatisfied with your current situation. Why would anyone want to search for motivation or get motivated if there always satisfied?
Experience new things
Getting out of your comfort zone allows you to find more stimulations that can lead to motivation. You will never know who you could meet or what you would be able to see if you are always experiencing the same thing.
Accomplish goals
A good way to get motivated is to create a small short-term goal and complete it. Complete a small goal will boost your confidence and encourage you to complete another one. Use the momentum to your advantage to accomplish bigger goals.
The accomplishment is the reward
There are a lot of people that would tell you to reward yourself after an accomplishment. If you have to get a reward every time you completed a task or every few times, what happens if you are incapable of rewarding yourself after? You have to keep going or give up regardless of what you accomplished.
A better way to reward yourself is to be happy with what you accomplished and don’t look anything outside of what you accomplish as a reward. The next accomplishment will be the reward and the one after, the one after the last.
Music
For a burst of motivation, music can help you get in the zone. Find music that gets you excited to get up and do something. Have songs that have inspirational lyrics. Create playlists of music to get motivated to accomplish goals in life. Music is also a great way to stay focus on the task at hand.
Conclusion
In your quest to complete the task, you can get motivated from finding a hero that embodies the characteristic you idolize, learn new things, be unsatisfied in your current situation, experience new things, accomplish goals, and remember the accomplishments is the reward.
