Video games, a job, and learning to code. One has to go. Most people would say why one has to go? The answer is not as easy as it may seem. Hard decisions can seem simple to other people, but there are small details that confuse them.

Picture a scenario of working a job that pays a decent amount of money, enough to be comfortable for the time. A hobby that fills life with enjoyment came in the form of video games and a feeling of wanting more out of life and an idea to learn a new skill. Learning to code seems like an opportunity to take a chance to get further in life. You have to plan a way to learn how to code and become a hirable choice. What do you do?

We think we can do everything until we try to do everything. We live in a time of everything is possible, but when we take on the challenge, we find ourselves overwhelmed by the choices and time it takes to execute.

Most people would like to try to do more things in their lives and expand their experiences. The reality of it is most people don’t try everything. We usually stick to what we know, which creates the habits that shape our decisions.

In your time off from work playing video games gives you something to look forward to when you are home. You have played video games since you were a child, and it's now a habit you have difficulties stopping. It adds no other value to your life other than entertainment. Playing games feel like it holds you back from improving your life, and you wish you would use your time on something better.

Old habits are hard to quit. Playing video games is a habit many people pick up at a young age and continues in adulthood. The habit of playing video games can border on being an addiction. The satisfying relief of playing video and escaping the real world makes it too enticing ever want to stop.

Making hard decisions sometimes mean breaking old habits to build new ones. When determining whether to change a habit, we must consider if it is worth the time and energy to change. It takes a lot of mental energy to get over a habit, especially when a habit is a form of stress release.

Changing your habit can become more distracting than sticking with it. Now it becomes a decision of it being practical. What is the likelihood of actually being able to change the habit successfully? Does someone go from 4 hours of playing video games to 2 hours or a complete stop to playing games? Also, to consider the magnitude of how much of a change would be needed to make the change effective?

To maintain your way of life, working a job is your best option. The job is relatively easy but very unsatisfying. Also, you do not get paid enough to reach your financial goals.

Jobs provide a degree of financial security and comfort. Based on the job you have, you will have access to a certain level of financial security, which gives you certain levels of comfort and discomfort. A higher-paying job could provide a more comfortable lifestyle and cause more stress in other ways. A lower-paying job a be more fulfilling but does provide enough financial security to relieve the stress of financial burdens.

The dilemma of deciding whether it is worth working a job is what many people have to face daily. The way people live their lives is built around the job they have. The choices you make can significantly change the way you live. Choosing a new career is usually a difficult choice because it affects a huge part of a person’s lifestyle.

You found out employers are paying significantly more for certain skills, and you want to increase your income. The problem is, between your current job and your habit of playing video games, it is hard for you to find time to learn code and become good at it.

Often choosing a new job takes learning new skills and demonstrating you’re capable. The outcome someone is looking for motivates the urge to learn a new skill. Earning a higher wage from a new job is enough of a motivator for someone to do whatever it takes to achieve their desired result.

Learning new things takes time. Sometimes you have to sacrifice time and energy from one part of your life to achieve your ultimate goal.

Balancing all the activities in your life becomes a mathematical equation to get the best result. Decision-making is about finding the most efficient way to obtain a result. Most people think the best way to get results is to keep adding more, but it is the opposite. You have to find the right option to subtract to put more into the other options.

What is the best option in making a decision? The one you can live with no matter what happens. Most decisions negatives come with it. There will be a time when you look back at the choices you made and realize what you could have done better. You have to be comfortable with that and take those lessons and apply them.
