During the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards game, Rocket’s guard Kevin Porter Jr. made a game-winning shot. After Porter’s game-winner, Glenn Consor thought it was the perfect opportunity to reference Porter’s father with his comment “Like his dad, pulled the trigger at the right time.” Porter Jr.'s father spent years in prison for manslaughter in 2004. Glenn Consor apologized for his comments and said he mistaken his father for former NBA player Kevin Porter.

Kyrie Irvin’s season debut

In the first game back, even though it’s only part-time, Kyrie Irvin made a difference for the Nets. The Nets win their first game after losing three in a row. Kyrie contributed 22 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds.

Anfernee Simons dedication game

 On Monday, Anfernee Simons had his best game so far in his career. Anfernee dropped 43 points, 7 assists, and 3 rebounds in a win against the Atlanta Hawks. After the game, Anfernee dedicated the game to his grandfather, who recently passed away from cancer.

Morbius Delayed

Morbius, a Spider-Man spin-off was set to release at the end of January, is now delayed three more months. The new expected release date is April 1, 2022.

On Friday, Jeopardy contestant Amy Schneider wins $1 million. Amy won 28 games in a row and captured $1,019,600. Amy is currently fourth in Jeopardy wins.

Vice President Harris has a new communication director, Jamal Simmons. Jamal’s hiring comes among the many departures from Vice President’s staff. Before Jamal's first day on the job, tweets from 2010 came back to haunt him. Jamal apologized for comments about siccing immigration and Customs Enforcement on undocumented people.

Pittsburgh’s new Mayor

Ed Gainey was sworn in as Pittsburgh’s 61st mayor. Ed Gainey is the first black mayor of Pittsburgh. Mayor Gainey stated in his inauguration speech, “My Promise to you is that we will work to make Pittsburgh the Pittsburgh you voted for.”
